Organized & clean kitchens make life easier. 🙌
We’ve talked about the sponges we love, but now you need the best sink sponge holder to keep them accessible and dry. I’m sharing one of the best kitchen accessories to have around and one that a couple of my Hip sidekicks happen to be absolutely obsessed with!
Not only is it cheap and innovative, but it’s versatile, functional, and will keep your kitchen tidier.
Say hello to the Umbra Sling Flexible Sponge Holder – JUST $4.99 on Amazon (reg. $7)!
Unlike dealing with suction cups that never seem to stay put or create dirty water spots on your countertops, this sponge holder forms to your sink and stays in place with its non-slip material. Plus, the loop that rests on your sink and countertop is totally bendable which makes it a breeze to form to your sink’s needs.
It’s also innovatively designed with plenty of cutouts for drainage and to help prevent moisture build-up after each use.
“I’ve had this holder for years and it’s convenient to keep sponges off of the counter, clean, and organized. I like that it can fit either between the sink, or hang around the handles of the faucet.” – Lina
Bryn on our team heard about Lina’s sponge holder and had to give it a try since she just completed a fabulous kitchen renovation! Here’s what she had to say:
“I am super excited to start using this sponge holder! After a little bit of finagling, I’m really happy with how it looks. I HATE leaving a soapy wet sponge on the counter as it usually drips everywhere and often leaves rings on my countertop, so I knew this was a must-buy when I saw it!
This gadget is the perfect solution as the sponge drips into the sink and stays completely off the counter! My only gripe is that I wish it was a bit larger so it could hold 2 sponges when needed.” – Bryn
…Did someone say two sponges? 🤔
I love that Bryn mentioned wanting the ability to hold two sponges because Umbra actually makes an identical holder that fits two sponges at once for just a few dollars more. Plus, it looks like it requires a little less finagling. 😉 If you have scrub brushes (as shown above) or other small kitchen tools that need a home, this holder is double the versatility!
Just keep in mind that only one side has good drainage, so if that’s an important feature to you, then you might want to stick with the cheaper sponge holder that Lina and Bryn have.
Something else to keep in mind…
We want you to love your sponge holder as much as our team does, but unfortunately, there are some sinks where the one Lina and Bryn have might not be suitable for your kitchen.
In Angie’s case, the configuration of her sink and faucet doesn’t allow for a custom and functional fit on her faucet so ultimately this double sponge holder caddy might have worked better in her case.
However, don’t get too discouraged, because, as I mentioned above, the original sponge holder we shared is super versatile and in most cases can even bend over the center of your sink. So, if you’re lucky enough to have a double sink with a wall, you’re golden! How awesome!
Check out our team’s favorite roll-up drying rack to keep your kitchen tidier, too.
